Our weekend

So this weekend has been great! I wanted to share a few of the fun things we did...I don't have photos, so you'll have to let your mind visualize.

Friday night Tristan and Treec went to the (not so Monster) Monster Truck rally at the E Center. I stayed home and worked on putting my Christmas stuff away and watching friday night tv. Not such a fun night for me, but I got most of the holiday stuff put away.

Saturday morning I got up, did a few things around the house and then Treec and Trist picked me up and we went to lunch. We then headed to Target to let Tristan use his gift cards that he got for Christmas. He had a dream the other night that he had R2 D2 pj's and legos so he was heart set on spending his gift cards on an R2D2 lego set. OH MY...I really worried that that would be a difficult set to find...but thank goodness for Target. Right there on the shelf, a new Anikan (spelling?) and his jet with an R2D2 in the front flying right along with him. PHEW...he grabbed it off the shelf, I explained who Anikan is and we headed to the checkout stand with a new understanding of the pre Darth Vader and his flying buddy R2. "Oh wait...I need a new wallet Heid" Okay...so we headed to the boys section to find a wallet that would fit into those little pockets on those little jeans. There was the difficult task! Finally we ended up in the mens section and found one black leather wallet that has a chain hooked to the corner and a clip on the other end so he has this little silver chain hanging half way down his leg. IT'S SO AWESOME! I showed him how cool the chain was, and it's been hooked to ever pair of pants he's had on since...SO cute!
Then he went with the ex to his aunts b-day party for cake and ice cream, so Treec decided to take me to a movie that I had been wanting to see. Even though she had no idea what it was about, and thought it looked weird she took me to see Sweeny Todd. I wont ruin it for anyone, but her comment was "my stomach is sick from all the blood". I loved it! I am a musical geek...so I wont recommend it 'cause most aren't, but I LOVED IT!

We ended up sleeping at my house saturday night, so we picked Trist up and then come home and worked on his new Lego set. I love that he's 5 and putting together age 8+ lego sets by himself. Patrice or I would remind him to go step by step but all in all, he put the whole thing together! And it's a cool little flyer jet with Anikan and R2.

Sunday morning we got up and made breakfast, looking out the window we saw it starting to snow so we bundled up on the couch and watched Hairspray (again, with musicals! :) Trist likes em too!) Then Trist started to get antsy so I suggested getting out the 4wheeler and going to the big field behind Wal-Mart and pulling a tube behind the 4 wheeler. I didn't think it would be as great as it ended up, but OH MY HECK...I had such a great time. I was driving first and Treec and Trist were on the tube, they came whipping around the side of the 4-wheeler and Trist goes rolling off: FLASHBACK: when I was about 7 or 8 I remember my family went out with friends on snowmobiles and hooked tubes to the back. I remember going whipping around the side of the snowmobile and rolling off fell into a fire pit that my parents had built to keep us warm while we sat and ate lunch. Part of my coat melted, and I got really warm, really fast, but I didn't get hurt. BACK TO TODAY: I hit the brakes, and turned in fear knowing Trist was going to be laying there bawling for his mom...no, he'd jumped up, thumbs up as far as he could get them yelling "THAT WAS AWESOME! do it again!" I laughed, he jumped back on, and we kept going...what a great afternoon! We will definitely be doing that again next snow storm! :)

Dinner at Chili's with Treec's mom and now back home about ready to crash for the night.

WHAT A GREAT WEEKEND...Thanks Sweet...it was a blast!

TTFN...enjoy your week.

Update...

So I wanted to give those of you that read and are wondering an update.

The ex was told that she couldn't sleep over, she threw a temper tantrum because she just isn't used to boundaries. Treec and I are working on us being on the same page so that we can sit down with the ex and set more concrete boundaries. We are working on us being a unified front, working as a family side by side with the ex as his other family. I hope it all works out for the best, because I do respect that the ex will be a part of Tristan life for as long as their relationship allows I just want to make sure it doesn't disrupt our life as a family along the way. I think with solid communication, and with the main focus being our love for Tristan and what is best for him, we will succeed. Keep your fingers crossed! :)

It seems like Christmas was so long ago...I am glad it's Jan...time for a new start, time to say out with the old, in with the new and make some positive life altering changes in my life so that I can continue on my journey toward happiness.

New Years Eve was spent with good friends, I have a few photos but they are on the camera at home so I will have to update the blog with those later. We had a delicious prime rib dinner, garlic mashed potatoes, salad, stuffed mushrooms, cheese ball and crackers, rolls, green bean casserole. IT WAS AMAZING...thanks again for all those who participated! Then we played Guitar Hero all night until it was about midnight, when we ran outside banging pots and pans cheering Happy New Year. What a great night...thanks again!

Guess that's it for now...TTFN

(I will be in Hawaii in 6 months)
