Been a long time, been a long time now!

The immortal words of Alison Moyet. Not that any of the other words in the song relate...but wow, it's been a long time since I blogged.

I look back on my life and realize, it's not been one life, it's been multiple lives. Many loves, many friends, many experiences, I am 41 years old (one month shy of 42) and I have had many lives within that 41 years.

The road I am on right now, includes a partner, a 9 year old "step on", a career, a part time job in the mental health world, friends of old, friends of new, a lot of music (as always) and a lot of gratitude for the youth that I still possess.

My family just went to Disneyworld for a family vacation with my younger sister, her family, and my Mom and Dad. What a great trip. Highs and lows of course when you are vacationing with 9 people, but all in all, a fantastic trip.

As I said before, Tristan is 9 and is ever so full of ups and down himself. He is really smart and does great in school, but has a tendency to be lazy. He likes to push boundaries and use manipulation (that he was taught so well from "her that will remain nameless") to get his way. He has a bit of a crush on a girl in his class, they are best friends, but he really wants to impress her. I recall when I was about his age that I started to journal about my crushes, so I don't find it early at all that he's found his "type". I am a bit worried that she's a little Mormon girl, that will cause him some grief in the near future when he's not a church goer, and his mom's are lesbians! :)

My boss at job #1 recommended me for a "fast track to management" program. I applied, but am not sure that I will be picked. We'll see...it's pretty amazing to even be nominated for such a program. Her boss, our regional VP, had to sign off on it as well, so I feel pretty good about it. I will keep you posted!

Well, I just wanted to say hi and catch up for a minute...I will try to come back more often. 2 years is a long time!
