Little Bit o everythang!

Well, hello! Tonight was spent with Ky, Beck and the kids at one of our favorite restaurants Teppenyaki's for Tree-c's b-day! It was really nice to enjoy time with them...oh hell, it's always nice! Jackson cracked me up chowin down on his rice! I have never seen a kid like rice as much as Jackson does! And then there's Alyssa being a big girl and enjoying the show...I think she asked 4 or 5 times where the guy was going when he was done cooking our dinner. Tristan loves the fire, but it's a little hot on his face, so he always shoves his chair about 5 feet away from the table while the flame is going and then slides back up for the rest of the show when the flames die down. And me...I love the soup and salad best! YUMM-O...if you've never had a chance to go...I highly recommend it.

Tomorrow is Tree-c's actual b-day. I am having friends and family over for a little b-b-q and I am a bit overwhelmed since last year we weren't "together" for her b-day. I want it to be special for her! There are a few surprises in the works...I will share them and how they were received after tomorrow! :)

I would bet that most of the people in my life have been affected by the big "C" (and I don't mean Cali) in some way or another. My mom has battled breast cancer 3 times. Monday she called me and let me know that her routine bone scan showed up with a bit of abnormality in her neck bones...so they were a bit concerned and had her come back in for a few more tests. Wednesdays we were relieved to find out that it's not cancer! WOO HOO...it is however degenerative arthritis. Sad that we are excited that it's that...but at least it's not cancer! Last time my mom went through her treatments it really altered her mental well being and changed my mom into a different person. I think deep inside somewhere I was scared to lose my mom again when we just got her back! Thank God we have more time!

It's my big sisters birthday today. I called her this morning to wish her a happy day! I realized as I hung up the phone that it's probably been months since I talked to her. I gotta be a better sister and keep the phone lines open with her. I have two sisters, one older, Gidget (yes that's her real name); and one younger, Penny. They both have one child, Gidget's son Timmy joined the Navy last December and is stationed in San Diego. Penny's baby Presley is having her first birthday in October. I am really looking forward to seeing them Columbus Day weekend...Treec, Tristan, and I are taking a little road trip. I can't wait!

Well I better get my self off to bed, tomorrow is going to be a long day! Wish me luck!

Update...and then maybe a lil softball goo!

Alrighty then, so to give an update...I guess it wasn't a SWAT team (come on i'm in Utah...gossip is big here right!), it was just a few cops. West Valley's finest, at it's best sit and wait for something to "really" happen before they take initiative to intervene therefore after a few hours of sitting on their asses they left...yep you heard me, they left...so Aunt and daughter went into the house to find out if Uncle had ended up shooting himself to find him passed out. He had taken enough pills and whatever else to get a good old overdose goin on, so they called 911 and last I heard he is in Pioneer Hospital. Which if you have ever been there is almost putting yourself one foot in the grave anyway...sorry not a fan of Pioneer!

Talk about Jerry Springer type events...and this is just the sprinkles on the whip cream of what has been happening in that family. I wont even bother with all the other details.

My girl is doing fine, worried about her Grandma who lives across the street...but all in all, just another day in the life.

Tonight was the first game of our women's fall softball league. Started with a cluster...2 players short, one of which is one of my better outfielders. I am not really sure why I continue running this damn team...guess it's the love of the game that does it to me. Ended up losing, but not a bad lose, if that makes sense to anyone! Sometimes you play so bad that you beat yourselves, others, you work your ass off and are proud of the game even if you lose. That was tonight. Looks like we are going to have a pretty solid team, it'll just take a few weeks to get the softball goo going, so we are all gelled together and playing like we know what the hell we are doing.

Let's see if I can post a photo...and then I will head off to bed...oh and I wanted to say thanks to Ky for putting such a flattering photo of me on her blog...but really her comments made me tear up a bit, she is one of the best friends I could have ever hoped for and I am blessed to be in her and Beck and the kids lives! Love you guys...

The phone call

First let me start with...I am a blog virgin, (and gramatically challenged at times-forgive me)and i'm kinda excited to get a move on with this...so thanks Ky for getting me all worked up and ready to...dirty, your all dirty! I hope I do you proud! :) I got big shoes to compare too (CROCS ARE BACK!).

Ok, so I am sitting at work tonight in the CD Store, 2nd of two jobs, the one that brings me joy! Listenin to a bit of Queen/John Lennon/Gnarls Barkley/Tom Waits...just a little bit of a random spin. Had two female "family members" come in to purchase some dvd's all of which had a common theme to me! I smurked under my breath (can you do that?...well I did) wondering if their young minds think like me...sure enough, as I state "you both have great taste in movies" the one pipes up with "do you know the common theme?". Without missing a beat I reply "Clea Duvall...my girlfriend (yumm-o) and they both giggle and she says "yep!" So then she proceeds to pull out her cell phone where she had caputred a photo of Clea about 10 feet away in a club in LA just two weeks ago. I drooled in jealousy. What a great start to my 5 hour shift!

Well then, to get to the blog title, I get a phone call...Indigo Girls: Free in You starts to play, and a smile comes to my face knowing that my sexy gf is calling to say hello! Well so I thought. It wasn't a call to say hello so much as a call to tell me she was rushing over to her grandma's, where situated about 100 yards across the street was a SWAT team and her "uncle Shane with a shot gun to his head". How do you do that exactly? Wouldn't you have to have long arms? So now I sit here, stuck in the store, praying that Tree-c isn't anywhere near the house, and doesn't get in the middle of any gun fire that might ensue. I will update as I know any outcome!

Well...guess I better get to cleaning up the store, and trying to keep my mind off anyone getting hurt! Pray that all turns out without a death, I can just see it now, Patrice's b-day friday will be spend at a funeral! JOY! Was that synical? Hmmmm...
